STATUE OF LIBERTY
This postcard shows a father and son posing in front of the Statue of Liberty, perhaps from a service used for turning photographs into postcards. It also includes a hand written “Sept. 1949” on the front side of the image. Up until 1954, foreign immigrants were sent to the neighboring Ellis Island for acquiring entry permits. Perhaps the Statue of Liberty was one of the first monuments to come in sight for the immigrants when arriving to the United States.
